The TEMPIL 28014 is a temperature indicating crayon rated to 213 degrees F (101 degrees C), designed for fast and reliable heat verification on metal and non-metal surfaces. The crayon tip melts instantly when the marked surface reaches the designated temperature, giving technicians and tradespeople an immediate visual confirmation without calibration equipment. It is accurate to within plus or minus 1 percent of the Fahrenheit rating, making it a dependable tool for welding, brazing, heat treating, and mechanical applications where thermal thresholds must be confirmed before or during work.
This crayon is suited for use in fabrication shops, HVAC service work, plumbing, electrical maintenance, and industrial applications where surface temperature must be monitored. It applies cleanly to aluminum, ceramic, glass, iron, plastic, stainless steel, and carbon steel. It is part of a line spanning 116 temperature ratings from 100 degrees F (38 degrees C) to 2000 degrees F (1093 degrees C), making it easy to specify the correct crayon for each job stage or material threshold.
Designed for use on aluminum, ceramic, glass, iron, plastic, stainless steel, and steel surfaces where surface temperature monitoring is required.
Temperature indicating crayons are applied by marking the work surface before or during heating. When the surface reaches the rated temperature, the crayon mark melts visibly. Always wear appropriate PPE when working near heated materials. Crayons are not a substitute for calibrated thermocouple measurement in code-controlled applications.
