The TELEMECANIQUE SENSORS XUM0APSAM8 is a rectangular, multimode photoelectric sensor designed for industrial detection applications. It operates on 12 to 24 VDC and provides a nominal sensing distance of 10 meters with a PNP output circuit. The housing is constructed from PBT (polybutylene terephthalate), a durable thermoplastic suited for demanding environments. Rated IP65 and IP67, the sensor resists both dust ingress and water immersion. Built-in shock and vibration resistance makes it appropriate for installations on machinery, conveyor systems, and other high-cycle industrial equipment. A licensed electrician or qualified automation technician typically handles installation of sensors in this class.
The XUM0APSAM8 is intended for use within the OsiSense XU sensor family and is well suited to light-duty industrial automation, packaging lines, material handling, and factory floor detection tasks. Its compact rectangular body measures 20mm long by 12mm wide by 45mm high, allowing integration into tight mounting arrangements. The four-pin M8 connector simplifies field wiring and supports fast replacement without cutting and splicing leads. Operating temperature range spans -13 degrees F to 131 degrees F, supporting both indoor and light outdoor industrial environments.
Designed for use with the OsiSense XU sensor family. Verify mounting dimensions and connector pinout against the target control system before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or automation technician familiar with low-voltage DC sensor wiring. Disconnect and lock out power to the control circuit before connecting or disconnecting the M8 connector. Confirm the output circuit type (PNP) is compatible with the input card of the target PLC or controller before wiring. Follow applicable NEC guidelines and the equipment manufacturer's wiring diagram when integrating this sensor into a control panel or machine circuit.
