The TELEMECANIQUE SENSORS XS630B1PBM12 is a shielded cylindrical inductive proximity sensor designed for reliable non-contact detection of metallic targets in industrial automation and control applications. Built into an M30 brass housing with a 2.91-inch overall length, it provides a detection distance of 0.59 inches (15 mm) and operates on 12 to 48 volts DC. The output is PNP, normally closed (NC), with a three-wire configuration and a four-pin M12 connector. With a 500 Hz response frequency and a 200 mA maximum load capacity, this sensor suits high-cycle detection tasks where consistent switching speed matters. Licensed electricians and automation technicians are the primary installers.
This sensor is suited for factory automation, machine tool positioning, conveyor systems, and industrial control panels where flush-mount shielded sensing is required. The M30 threaded body allows straightforward mounting in standard sensor brackets or drilled housings. Its operating temperature range of -13 degrees F to 158 degrees F makes it appropriate for both indoor industrial environments and outdoor installations exposed to moderate temperature extremes. The IP67 and IP69K ingress protection ratings allow deployment in wash-down environments common in food processing and heavy manufacturing.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct installation inductive proximity sensor for industrial control systems requiring an M30 shielded cylindrical sensor with a four-pin M12 connector, PNP NC output, and 12 to 48 volt DC supply.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified automation technician in accordance with NEC guidelines and the equipment manufacturer's wiring documentation. De-energize the circuit and verify zero voltage at the connector before wiring. The four-pin M12 connector requires a compatible M12 mating cable or cordset - confirm pin assignment against the sensor datasheet before connecting. Avoid mounting adjacent to strong electromagnetic fields or ferrous structures outside the specified sensing face, as these can affect switching accuracy.
