The TELEMECANIQUE SENSORS XS618B1MAU20 is a shielded cylindrical inductive proximity sensor designed for industrial position and presence detection. It operates on 24 to 240 volts AC/DC, making it compatible with a wide range of control system voltages without requiring separate power supplies. The sensor delivers a normally open (NO) output over a 2-wire connection and has a response frequency of 1,000 Hz, supporting high-speed detection cycles. With an M18 threaded brass housing rated IP67 and IP69K, this unit is built for harsh environments where moisture, washdown, shock, and vibration are routine concerns. Licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians are the typical installers.
This sensor is suited for factory automation, conveyor systems, machine tool positioning, and assembly line detection in both light industrial and heavy-duty manufacturing environments. Its M18 x 1 threaded body allows flush panel or bracket mounting in standard M18 sensor cutouts. The 0.31-inch (8 mm) detection distance is appropriate for close-tolerance metal target detection at high cycle rates. The 2-wire, 24 to 240V AC/DC design simplifies wiring in mixed-voltage control panels and retrofits into existing sensor installations without rewiring the supply circuit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new installation sensor for M18-threaded inductive proximity sensor applications in industrial automation and machine control systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or industrial maintenance technician. De-energize the control panel and lock out the machine before wiring or mounting the sensor. The M18 x 1 threaded body should be secured into a properly sized mounting bracket or panel cutout; do not overtighten the housing. Verify supply voltage and load current do not exceed the sensor ratings before commissioning.
