The TELEMECANIQUE SENSORS XS506B1PBM8 is a cylinder shielded inductive proximity sensor designed for non-contact detection of metallic targets in industrial and commercial control applications. Operating on 12 to 24 volts DC, it outputs a PNP normally closed (NC) signal over three wires and connects via an M8 three-pin connector. The sensing head is M6.5 in diameter with an M6x1 thread, and the overall body length is approximately 42 millimeters. It delivers a response frequency of 5,000 Hz, making it well suited for fast-moving target detection. The stainless steel housing carries an IP67 ingress protection rating, providing reliable performance in wet or dusty environments.
This sensor is intended for use in automated machinery, conveyor systems, robotics, and light industrial equipment where precise, high-speed metallic target detection is required. It is well matched to machine control panels, production line equipment, and field installations where vibration and shock resistance are necessary. Licensed electricians and industrial controls technicians are the primary installers. The compact M6.5 head fits into tight mounting locations where space is limited.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install inductive proximity sensor for industrial machine control systems requiring an M6.5 cylinder shielded PNP NC sensor with an M8 connector interface.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified industrial controls technician in accordance with applicable NEC guidelines and local codes. De-energize the control circuit completely before wiring or replacing the sensor. Verify supply voltage is within the 12 to 24 volt DC operating range before powering the circuit. Secure the M6x1 threaded body with the appropriate hardware to prevent loosening under vibration; do not overtighten the housing into the mounting bracket.
