The TB WOODS TB-WE4H138 is a plain bore tire coupling hub designed for WE4-size Dura-Flex tire coupling assemblies. It mounts directly to a keyed shaft and connects to a matched tire coupling element to transmit torque between two shafts while accommodating angular and parallel misalignment. The hub is machined from steel with a 1-3/8 inch round keyed bore, a 5/16 inch keyway width, and a length through bore of 1-11/16 inches. Rated at 550 inch-pounds of torque and a maximum speed of 7,500 RPM, this hub is sized for demanding power transmission in industrial and commercial mechanical systems. Licensed mechanics and millwrights are the primary installers.
This hub is suited for use in blowers, compressors, fans, generators, pumps, and motors across numerous industrial applications. It performs across a wide temperature range of -40 degrees F to 200 degrees F and carries chemical and oil resistance properties, making it viable in harsh service environments. At 10 hp at 1,160 RPM, 15 hp at 1,750 RPM, and 31 hp at 3,500 RPM, the WE4 hub handles a broad range of drive configurations in both light and heavy-duty mechanical setups.
Designed for use with WE4-size Dura-Flex tire coupling elements. Compatible applications include blowers, compressors, fans, generators, pumps, motors, and numerous other industrial drive systems requiring keyed shaft connections.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed millwright or mechanical technician. Disconnect and lock out all power to the drive system before mounting or removing any coupling components. Verify shaft diameter and keyway dimensions match the bore and keyway specs of this hub before installation. Torque the set screw over the keyway per applicable mechanical standards and confirm proper alignment of both shafts before returning the system to service.
