The TB WOODS TB-WE3H78 is a bored-to-size tire coupling shaft hub from the Dura-Flex WE series, designed for use in flexible tire-style coupling assemblies on rotating mechanical drive systems. This hub features a 7/8 inch bore diameter, a 2.32 inch hub diameter, and a 1-1/2 inch length through bore, making it a direct-fit component for 03 series coupling configurations. Constructed from low carbon steel, it delivers reliable torque transfer while accommodating minor shaft misalignment. A 3/16 x 3/32 inch keyway and a 1/4-20 UNC-2B x 1/2 inch set screw provide positive shaft retention. The hub is rated to a maximum speed of 7500 rpm. Installation is performed by millwrights, mechanical contractors, and industrial maintenance technicians.
This shaft hub is suited for light to moderate industrial drive applications including conveyor systems, pump drives, compressor drives, and general power transmission setups. The bored-to-size configuration means the bore is already finished to the specified 7/8 inch diameter, reducing field machining requirements. It is intended for use as one half of a complete Dura-Flex tire coupling assembly, paired with a mating hub and a flexible tire element. Applications span both fixed and mobile industrial equipment where torsional flexibility and vibration damping are required.
Designed for use in TB WOODS Dura-Flex WE series 03 coupling assemblies. This hub is one component of a complete tire coupling assembly and requires a mating hub and flexible tire element to form a functional coupling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified millwright or mechanical technician. Disconnect and lock out all power to the drive system before handling any coupling components, following applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure shaft and bore surfaces are clean and free of burrs before pressing or sliding the hub onto the shaft. Verify keyway alignment and torque the set screw to the fastener manufacturer's specification using the appropriate hex key.
