The TB WOODS TB-7S158* is a finished bore sleeve coupling flange designed for close-coupled shaft connections in rotating equipment. Built with a cast iron hub, this flange mounts directly to a keyed shaft with a 1-5/8 inch bore diameter and a bore tolerance of +0.0005 inch to +0.0015 inch. It pairs with a matched sleeve insert to transmit torque while accommodating angular and parallel misalignment. Rated to 5,250 RPM, it suits medium-duty industrial drive applications. Licensed HVAC, pump, and mechanical drive technicians install this component as part of flexible coupling assemblies where controlled flex and vibration damping are required.
This coupling flange is suited for use in compressors, conveyors, motors, and pump drive trains in both commercial and industrial settings. The 4-way flexing action built into the sleeve coupling system absorbs shock, misalignment, and end float, reducing stress on connected equipment. The flange features chemical and oil resistance, making it appropriate for environments where fluid exposure is common. Two set screws are included — one positioned over the keyway seat and one at 90 degrees — securing the flange firmly to the shaft during operation.
Designed for use with keyed shafts in compressor, conveyor, motor, and pump drive applications. Functions as part of a matched sleeve coupling assembly and requires a compatible sleeve insert for full coupling assembly.
Installation is typically performed by a qualified mechanical or millwright technician. Disconnect and lock out all power to the drive system before beginning work. Ensure the shaft and bore are clean and free of burrs before seating the flange, and confirm keyway alignment before tightening the set screws. Follow applicable ANSI and OSHA machine guarding standards after assembly.
