The TB WOODS TB-6J58 is a finished bore sleeve coupling flange designed for close-coupled shaft connections in rotating equipment applications. Machined from cast iron, this flange hub mounts directly onto a keyed round bore shaft with a 5/8-inch bore diameter and bore tolerance of +0.0005 to +0.0015 inches. It pairs with a matched sleeve insert to complete the coupling assembly, accommodating both angular and parallel misalignment. The 4-inch outside diameter hub is rated to 6,000 RPM maximum speed. Two set screws are included, positioned one over the keyseat and one at 90 degrees, securing the flange firmly to the shaft. Licensed HVAC, mechanical, and industrial technicians install this component as part of power transmission assemblies.
The TB-6J58 flange hub is suited for use in compressors, conveyors, motors, and pumps across residential and commercial mechanical systems. The 4-way flexing action of the mating sleeve insert absorbs shock loads, misalignment, and end float, reducing stress on connected shaft components. Chemical-resistant and oil-resistant properties make this flange appropriate for environments where fluid exposure is common, such as pump rooms and mechanical equipment rooms. It ships as a single flange hub with two set screws and requires a compatible TB WOODS sleeve insert to complete the coupling.
Designed for use with keyed round bore shafts, size 6 TB WOODS sleeve coupling assemblies. Compatible applications include compressors, conveyors, motors, and pumps. A matching sleeve insert is required to complete the coupling and is sold separately.
Installation is performed by qualified mechanical or millwright technicians. De-energize all connected motors and lock out power before mounting or removing coupling flanges per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify shaft diameter, keyway dimensions, and bore tolerance before pressing the flange onto the shaft. Do not operate the coupling without the mating sleeve insert properly seated between both flanges.
