The TB WOODS TB-6J1 is a finished-bore sleeve coupling flange designed for close-coupled shaft connections in mechanical power transmission systems. Built from cast iron, this flange hub mounts directly onto a keyed shaft with a 1-inch round keyed bore and tight bore tolerances of +0.0005 to +0.0015 inches. It mates with a matched sleeve insert to form a complete flexible sleeve coupling assembly. The 4-way flexing action of the sleeve insert absorbs shock loads, handles angular and parallel misalignment, and accommodates end float and vibration. Rated to 6,000 RPM, this flange is suitable for moderate- to high-speed industrial drive applications. Installation is typically performed by millwrights, mechanical contractors, or maintenance technicians.
The TB-6J1 flange is used in industrial and commercial drive systems including compressors, conveyors, motors, and pumps. It is engineered for inch-system keyed shafts and is a standard fit in close-coupled arrangements where shaft alignment cannot be perfectly controlled. The coupling size is 6, with a 4-inch outside diameter and a hub diameter of 2.5 inches. The chemical- and oil-resistant properties make it suitable for environments where incidental fluid exposure is common, such as pump rooms and compressor installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit flange hub for size 6 sleeve coupling assemblies on inch-system keyed shafts used in compressors, conveyors, motors, and pumps.
Installation is performed by millwrights or qualified mechanical technicians. Disconnect and lock out all power to the drive system before mounting or removing coupling components. Ensure the shaft and bore are clean and free of burrs before pressing or sliding the flange onto the shaft. Torque set screws to the fastener manufacturer specifications for the given screw size and verify shaft alignment before returning the system to service.
