Taymac BC100S Weatherproof Blank Cover Single Gang Gray

Product Description

The TAYMAC BC100S is a single-gang weatherproof metallic blank cover plate designed for junction boxes in residential and light commercial electrical installations. Cast from durable metal, this device cover provides a secure, code-compliant closure for non-device junction boxes where no receptacle or switch is present. It measures 0.24 inches deep by 2.80 inches wide by 4.61 inches tall. The BC100S carries a NEMA 3R rating, making it suitable for outdoor and damp-location applications where rain and weather exposure is a concern. CSA and UL certifications confirm compliance with widely recognized electrical safety standards.

This blank cover is used wherever a single-gang box needs to be closed off without a device installed - common in new construction, renovation, and retrofit projects. Typical applications include exterior walls, garages, utility spaces, and any wet or damp location where an unused junction box must remain weatherproof. The included gasket ensures a weather-resistant seal between the cover and the box face. Mounting hardware and instructions are included, allowing straightforward installation in the field.

Installation Notes

Installation is typically performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for box fill and weatherproof enclosure ratings. Always de-energize the circuit at the breaker panel and confirm voltage absence with a meter before working on any junction box. Seat the included gasket evenly against the box face before securing the cover to maintain the NEMA 3R weather rating. Do not overtighten mounting screws, as this can distort the gasket and compromise the weatherproof seal.
