It mounts to an adjustable brace that spans from 16 inches to 24 inches to accommodate standard joist spacing without requiring direct access to a joist. The drawn steel construction provides the structural integrity needed to support ceiling fans and heavier light fixtures. The box carries a 15.8 cubic inch capacity and includes a nonmetallic sheathed cable connector, mounting hardware, and instructions. Licensed electricians install this box during rough-in on new work projects where the ceiling surface has not yet been closed.
