The TACO sd080080-5 is a Rear Strainer Pullout (RSP) suction diffuser designed for hydronic piping systems where clean, turbulence-free flow to a pump inlet is critical. It features integral cast straightening vanes that condition flow before it reaches the pump, reducing cavitation risk and extending pump life. The oversized body cylinder provides additional flow area, and the ductile iron body handles demanding mechanical and thermal loads. Maximum operating pressure is 175 psi and maximum operating temperature is 250 degrees F. This unit is installed by licensed mechanical contractors and HVAC technicians on commercial and industrial hydronic systems.

The sd080080-5 is suited for commercial hydronic heating and cooling applications where an 8-inch system connection mates to an 8-inch pump flanged connection. It ships with a disposable fine mesh start-up strainer that captures installation debris during initial system commissioning.
