The SYSTEM SENSOR b200s is an intelligent sounder base designed for use in addressable fire alarm systems. It generates multiple audible cadence patterns, including Temporal 3 for fire alarm events and Temporal 4 for CO alarm events, making it a dual-purpose signaling device. The b200s adopts the same address as the detector mounted to it, which allows the fire alarm control panel to command individual sounders or groups of sounders to activate without requiring a separate address point. Licensed fire alarm technicians and low-voltage electricians typically install this device as part of a complete detection and notification assembly.
The b200s is used in residential and commercial addressable fire alarm installations where integrated detector-sounder assemblies are required. It mounts beneath a compatible addressable detector, combining detection and audible notification in a single footprint. This configuration simplifies wiring and panel programming by sharing the detector address, reducing the total number of address points consumed on the loop. It is well suited for installations where space, cost, or loop capacity constraints favor combined detector-sounder units over separate notification appliances.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation sounder base for use with compatible addressable detectors in addressable fire alarm systems. Consult the fire alarm control panel manufacturer and system documentation to confirm loop compatibility before installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician or low-voltage electrician in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local codes. Power down and isolate the signaling line circuit before wiring the sounder base to avoid inadvertent alarms or damage to loop electronics. Verify detector-to-base compatibility and panel programming requirements before commissioning. Do not substitute cadence pattern assignments without confirming compliance with the authority having jurisdiction.
