The SUPERIOR HVACR 215-8 is a 2-way, normally closed diaphragm valve with a manual stem, designed for refrigeration and HVAC systems handling liquid, suction, and hot gas lines. It features a 1-1/8 inch ODF extended end connection on both inlet and outlet ports and is rated for a maximum working pressure of 500 PSIG with a maximum operating pressure differential of 300 PSIG. The valve carries UL, CUL, and CRN listings, making it suitable for installations requiring third-party certification. Licensed HVAC-R technicians and refrigeration mechanics are the primary installers of this component.
The 215-8 is intended for commercial and industrial refrigeration applications where positive shutoff of refrigerant flow is required. Its normally closed valve position makes it appropriate for liquid line, suction line, and hot gas bypass service. The extended ODF end connections accommodate standard brazed joint installations in copper tubing systems. With a temperature rating of 250 degrees F, it covers a wide range of refrigeration operating conditions encountered in both low-temperature and medium-temperature systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation valve for commercial and industrial refrigeration systems using 1-1/8 inch ODF copper line connections. Suitable for use on liquid, suction, and hot gas lines where a normally closed manual diaphragm shutoff valve is specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC-R technician or refrigeration mechanic in accordance with applicable mechanical codes and the system manufacturer's guidelines. Recover all refrigerant and depressurize the system before cutting into any line or removing an existing valve. ODF extended end connections are designed for silver-brazed joints — use appropriate flux, heat protection, and flow nitrogen during brazing to prevent internal oxidation. Verify valve orientation and flow direction match system design before finalizing the braze.
