The SUPERIOR ESSEX L4006P401 is a 6-fiber OM4 multimode riser-rated fiber optic cable designed for high-bandwidth structured cabling installations. OM4 multimode fiber supports 10 Gigabit, 40 Gigabit, and 100 Gigabit Ethernet applications over extended distances compared to OM3, making it a common choice for backbone runs in modern commercial buildings. The riser rating (OFNR) qualifies this cable for vertical runs between floors in non-plenum spaces. Licensed low-voltage and data communications contractors install this cable as part of structured cabling systems.
This cable is suited for intrabuilding backbone and horizontal distribution applications in commercial and enterprise environments. Typical installation scenarios include runs from telecommunications rooms to intermediate distribution frames, server room interconnects, and campus backbone segments where multimode fiber is specified. The 6-fiber count accommodates small- to mid-scale deployments where a limited number of fiber strands are required per run.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fiber optic cable for riser-rated multimode structured cabling systems where OM4 6-fiber cable is specified.
Installation should be performed by a qualified low-voltage or data communications contractor in accordance with TIA-568 structured cabling standards and applicable local codes. De-energize and isolate all active equipment connected to the fiber path before terminating or splicing. Use appropriate fiber-rated pulling lubricant and do not exceed the cable's minimum bend radius during installation. Riser-rated cable must not be substituted for plenum-rated cable in air-handling spaces.
