The SUPERIOR ESSEX L3144P401 is a 144-strand OM4 multimode riser-rated fiber optic cable designed for high-density indoor backbone installations. OM4 glass supports 10 Gigabit, 40 Gigabit, and 100 Gigabit Ethernet transmission at extended distances compared to OM3, making it a practical choice for data centers, enterprise LANs, and inter-floor backbone runs. The riser rating (OFCR) qualifies this cable for vertical runs between floors in commercial buildings, meeting fire code requirements for in-building vertical pathways. Installation is performed by licensed low-voltage cabling contractors or telecommunications technicians.
This cable is suited for commercial and enterprise environments requiring high-fiber-count backbone infrastructure. Typical applications include main distribution frame to intermediate distribution frame runs, data center spine connections, and campus riser shafts. The 144-fiber count supports large-scale structured cabling deployments where consolidation of multiple circuits into a single cable pathway is required. The tight-buffered construction with an indoor jacket makes it well-suited for pull-through conduit installations in riser sleeves and cable trays.
Designed as an OEM-style riser fiber cable for use with standard OM4-compatible fiber optic connectors, patch panels, and enclosures in commercial indoor backbone cabling systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified low-voltage cabling contractor or registered communications distribution designer familiar with ANSI/TIA-568 structured cabling standards. Power down any active equipment connected to the fiber path before splicing or terminating. OFCR-rated cable must be installed in riser-designated pathways only and must not be substituted for plenum-rated (OFCP) cable in air-handling spaces. Follow all applicable local fire and building codes for vertical cable penetration firestopping.
