The SUPERIOR ESSEX 52-200-95 is a Category 5e unshielded twisted pair (UTP) riser-rated network cable designed for structured cabling installations in commercial and residential buildings. Built to CMR (Communications Multipurpose Cable, Riser) standards, it is suitable for vertical runs between floors in non-plenum spaces. The cable features 4 twisted pairs of 24 AWG conductors and meets Cat5e performance specifications for data and voice transmission. It is installed by low-voltage cabling technicians and licensed electricians working to TIA-568 and NEC Article 800 standards.
This cable is used in horizontal and riser backbone runs within structured cabling systems. Typical applications include network drops, patch connections, and inter-floor backbone segments in office buildings, schools, multi-tenant facilities, and light commercial environments. It supports Ethernet data transmission at speeds consistent with Cat5e specifications. The CMR jacket rating qualifies it for riser pathways where plenum-rated cable is not required by code.
Designed as a standard Cat5e CMR riser cable compatible with RJ-45 keystone jacks, patch panels, and modular connectors that meet TIA-568 Cat5e termination specifications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage technician or electrician in compliance with NEC Article 800 and applicable local codes. Verify that the riser pathway does not require plenum-rated (CMP) cable before installation. Avoid sharp bends exceeding the minimum bend radius and do not pull the cable beyond its rated tensile load during fish or conduit runs. Terminate both ends using Cat5e-rated connectors and test with a cable certifier to confirm channel performance.
