The SUPERIOR ESSEX 12012NG01 (GEL FILLED) is a 12-fiber multimode OM3 loose-tube outdoor plant (OSP) fiber optic cable with an all-dielectric construction. It is designed for outside plant runs where no metallic components are permitted, eliminating concerns about lightning strike or ground-loop interference. The gel-filled loose tube design protects the fiber strands from moisture ingress, making it suitable for direct burial, conduit, and aerial installations. Fiber optic technicians and low-voltage contractors install this cable in campus backbone, data center interconnect, and utility distribution applications.
This cable is intended for outside plant environments where a non-conductive, moisture-resistant solution is required. The OM3 multimode fiber supports high-bandwidth applications including 10 Gigabit Ethernet and 40/100 Gigabit Ethernet over shorter distances. Its all-dielectric build makes it the correct choice for runs between buildings or through areas where electrical isolation is required by code or design. It is sold per unit as a single cable assembly or reel depending on order configuration.
Designed as an OSP-rated, all-dielectric multimode OM3 fiber optic cable suitable for outside plant backbone runs in commercial, campus, and industrial network infrastructure where non-metallic construction is specified.
Installation should be performed by a qualified fiber optic technician or low-voltage contractor familiar with OSP cabling practices and applicable codes such as the NEC Article 770. Gel-filled tubes require thorough cleaning with an approved gel-removal solvent before splicing or terminating. Observe the cable minimum bend radius and maximum pulling tension throughout the pull to avoid fiber damage. Power sources and active equipment should be fully de-energized before connecting any fiber patch panels or splice enclosures.
