The SUPERIOR 7100 is a PEX crimp ring tool designed for plumbers and pipefitters installing cross-linked polyethylene tubing systems. It meets ASTM F1807 specification and includes a go/no go gauge to verify proper crimp quality on any PEX manufacturer's tubing. The tool is machined from solid hardened alloy steel and requires no adjustments or calibration after initial setup. It crimps standard black copper PEX fittings using a standard 10-inch vise grip, keeping the tool compact and portable without requiring a large multi-jaw ratcheting tool investment. A tool pouch is included for jobsite carry, and the tool ships ready to use.
This tool covers the three most common residential PEX tubing sizes: 3/8 inch, 1/2 inch, and 3/4 inch. It is suited for new construction rough-in, remodel plumbing, radiant heat loop connections, and any portable repair scenario where a full-size crimping rig is not practical. Because it drives off a standard vise grip rather than a proprietary handle, it works anywhere a plumber already has basic hand tools on the truck.
Designed for use with standard black copper PEX crimp rings and fittings meeting ASTM F1807 specification across all major PEX tubing manufacturers, in 3/8 inch, 1/2 inch, and 3/4 inch sizes.
This tool is intended for use by licensed plumbers or qualified installers working on PEX tubing systems. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before making any connections. The tool requires a 10-inch vise grip to operate — do not substitute a smaller jaw tool, as it may produce incomplete crimps. After each crimp, verify the ring with the included go/no go gauge before pressurizing the line, in accordance with ASTM F1807 and applicable local plumbing codes.
