The SUPERIOR 587was-14st is a full-port refrigerant ball valve designed for use in commercial and residential refrigeration and air conditioning systems. It features a non-directional flow design and an integrated seal with access fitting, allowing technicians to service the valve without breaking the refrigerant circuit. Rated to a design pressure of 500 PSIG, this valve handles demanding system pressures common in modern refrigeration installations. The 7/8-inch ODS connection makes it a direct sweat-fit component for copper line sets. Licensed HVAC technicians and refrigeration mechanics are the primary installers of this valve.
The 587was-14st is suited for use in split systems, refrigeration racks, condensing units, and other sealed refrigerant circuits. It is compatible with a broad range of refrigerants including R11, R12, R22, R123, R125, R134A, R402A, R402B, R404A, R500, R502, and R507, making it appropriate for both legacy and current-generation systems. The full-port ball design minimizes pressure drop across the valve, which is important in low-temperature and high-efficiency applications.
Compatible with refrigerants R11, R12, R22, R123, R125, R134A, R402A, R402B, R404A, R500, R502, and R507. Designed for use in refrigeration and air conditioning systems with 7/8-inch ODS copper connections and system operating pressures up to 500 PSIG.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or refrigeration mechanic in accordance with applicable local codes and EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling regulations. Recover all refrigerant and relieve system pressure before cutting into the line set or removing any existing valve. Use a nitrogen purge during brazing to prevent oxidation scale inside the copper lines. Confirm the access fitting core is fully seated and leak-free before recharging the system.
