The SUPER LUBE 54405 is a synthetic gear oil formulated for extreme pressure applications across a wide range of industrial and mechanical systems. It carries an ISO 460 viscosity grade and operates across a service temperature range of -45 degrees F to 450 degrees F, making it suitable for both cold-start and high-temperature environments. The oil uses a fully synthetic base stock, which contributes to thermal stability, oxidation resistance, and extended drain intervals. It meets NSF registration standards, qualifying it for use in food-grade processing environments. Packaged in a 5-gallon pail, this product is typically applied by maintenance technicians, millwrights, and facilities personnel responsible for industrial lubrication programs.
This gear oil is designed for use in gearboxes, worm gear drives, helical and herringbone gear sets, spur gears, straight and spiral bevel gears, high-temperature chains, chain drives, circulating lubrication systems, oil-lubricated bearings, and electrically submerged pumps. Its extreme pressure additive package makes it appropriate for heavily loaded gear contacts operating under shock-load or continuous high-load conditions. The food-grade NSF registration makes it a fit for facilities where incidental food contact is a compliance requirement, such as food and beverage processing plants.
Suitable for use in chain drives, circulating systems, electrically submerged pumps, gearboxes, helical gears, herringbone gears, high-temperature chains, oil-lubricated bearings, spur gears, straight and spiral bevel gears, and worm gears where an ISO 460 viscosity synthetic oil meeting NSF food-grade standards is specified.
Applied by qualified maintenance technicians or lubrication specialists per equipment manufacturer fill specifications. Always de-energize and lock out the equipment before draining old oil or accessing fill and drain ports. Verify the ISO viscosity grade and any EP or food-grade requirements called out in the OEM service manual before filling. Dispose of used gear oil in accordance with local environmental regulations.
