The Supco SM3404 is a shaded-pole draft inducer furnace fan motor designed to replace failed or worn inducers in Nordyne-platform gas furnaces. Rated at 1/100 HP, 115 volts, and 0.69 amps, it draws 37.25 watts and spins at 3000 RPM single speed. The skeleton motor construction uses a ball bearing design for reliable rotation under continuous-duty thermal cycling. A two-prong Molex plug is attached at the factory, and the motor is thermally protected. Licensed HVAC technicians replace this component when inducer motor failure prevents the furnace from completing its ignition sequence.
This motor fits Nordyne-manufactured furnace platforms sold under multiple brand labels. Compatible brand names documented in the manufacturer data include Broan, Frigidaire, Gibson, Intertherm, Mammoth, Maytag, Miller, Nutone, Reznor, and Westinghouse. It is a direct OEM-replacement style unit intended for residential gas furnace draft inducer assemblies. The 4-inch blade configuration installs one blade on each side of the motor, and the 7/8-inch stack dimension is relevant for verifying physical fitment before installation.
Direct replacement for Nordyne-manufactured furnace models sold under the Broan, Frigidaire, Gibson, Intertherm, Mammoth, Maytag, Miller, Nutone, Reznor, and Westinghouse brand names. Replaces OEM part number 903404.
Draft inducer motor replacement is performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Shut off power at the disconnect and shut off the gas supply before removing the inducer assembly. Verify that the replacement motor stack height and blade diameter match the original before securing the assembly, as improper fitment will affect combustion airflow. Follow local mechanical codes and the furnace manufacturer service instructions when reinstalling the inducer housing and reconnecting the Molex plug.
