The SUMITOMO 2G52AMW is a WFX-style shim designed for indexable milling cutters. It seats beneath the insert in the toolholder pocket, providing a stable, repeatable seating surface that protects the pocket face from cutting forces and chip impact. The shim measures 3 mm thick and is sized for a 10.2 mm inscribed circle, matching square insert geometries used in WaveMill WFX toolholder configurations. Right-hand cut orientation is built into the design. Machinists and tooling technicians working with indexable milling platforms install this component as part of routine insert maintenance or pocket repair.
This shim is suited for milling applications where WFX-series toolholders are in service. It is used in both production and job-shop environments wherever indexable square inserts are run in WaveMill WFX cutter bodies. Replacing worn or damaged shims before seating a new insert helps maintain proper insert height, pocket geometry, and surface finish consistency across the cutter body.
Designed for use with WaveMill WFX series toolholders accepting square indexable inserts with a 10.2 mm inscribed circle.
Installation is performed by tooling technicians or machinists during insert changes or toolholder reconditioning. The cutter body must be fully removed from the spindle and secured before servicing insert pockets. Clean the pocket seating surface before placing the shim to ensure flat, full contact. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping sequence for the insert screw after the shim is seated.
