The SUMITOMO 19T6339 is a DNMG-style carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the AC5025S grade designation within the AC5000S series and features a TiAlSiN coating applied via PVD process under the proprietary Absotech Bronze designation. The insert has a 55-degree diamond shape with a negative rake angle of 7 degrees and a 0-degree relief angle. The inscribed circle measures 0.5 inches, the corner radius is 0.0313 inches, and the insert thickness is 0.1875 inches. A screw-clamping hold method is used. The EGU chip breaker geometry and PVD-coated carbide substrate are engineered for demanding cutting applications. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers and users of this insert.
The 19T6339 insert is rated for use on superalloys and titanium workpiece materials, corresponding to ISO material group S and material grade S20. This makes it well suited for aerospace, medical, and energy sector turning operations where difficult-to-machine alloys are common. The DNMG form factor and screw-on mounting method are compatible with standard DNMG toolholders used in production turning environments. The ISO code for this insert is DNMG150408N-GU. It conforms to both ANSI and ISO 13399 standards. Minimum order quantity is 10 pieces.
Designed for use with standard DNMG-style screw-on toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are superalloys and titanium (ISO material group S, grade S20). ISO insert code DNMG150408N-GU. Refer to toolholder manufacturer specifications to confirm pocket and clamping compatibility before installation.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician with the machine fully stopped and the spindle locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Ensure the insert is fully seated and the screw is properly engaged before resuming cutting operations.
