The SUMITOMO 19T5CGK is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision external and internal turning operations. Manufactured to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards, it carries the AC5015S grade designation and features a TiAlSiN coating applied by PVD process under SUMITOMO proprietary Absotech Bronze technology. The insert uses a WNMG trigon shape with an 80-degree included angle, neutral hand orientation, and a negative rake angle. A corner radius of 0.0313 inches and EEG chip breaker geometry make it well suited for consistent chip control in demanding material applications. Licensed HVAC and industrial machinists rely on this insert for repeatable surface finish and edge life on challenging workpieces.
This insert is rated for primary use on powdered metal workpieces, classified under workpiece material code S. The EEG chip breaker is engineered to manage chip flow on materials that generate abrasive wear on cutting edges. It is appropriate for CNC turning centers and manual engine lathes in production and job-shop environments where consistent dimensional tolerances are required. The screw-clamping insert holding method provides secure seating in compatible WNMG-style toolholders. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for WNMG432 and ISO-equivalent WNMG080408N-EG style toolholders that accept screw-clamped trigon inserts with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle. Compatible catalog reference number is WNMG432EEG-AC5015S. Material grade rating is S10.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and zero out the CNC program or disengage the lathe drive before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification — do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and will crack under excessive clamp load. Verify insert seating is flush against the pocket seat and shim before resuming cutting operations.
