The SUMITOMO 19T5335 is a CNMG432EGU-AC5015S solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC lathe and turning center applications. Coated with TiAlSiN via a PVD process under the Absotech Bronze proprietary designation, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. It features a neutral cutting hand, an 80-degree diamond insert shape (Shape Code C), and a negative rake angle of 7 degrees. The AC5015S grade is engineered for Material Grade S10, targeting non-ferrous metals and superalloys. It conforms to ANSI Code CNMG432EGU and ISO Code CNMG120408N-GU, meeting both ANSI and ISO 13399 standards. Machinists and CNC operators in precision manufacturing and job shop environments are the primary installers.
This insert is suited for turning operations on non-ferrous metals and superalloys in both production and job shop settings. The EGU chip breaker geometry is configured for controlled chip flow during finishing and semi-finishing passes. The screw-clamping insert holding method ensures secure seating in compatible CNMG-style toolholders. It is part of the Sumitomo AC5000S series, which is built around PVD-coated grades for demanding workpiece materials. The neutral cutting direction makes it adaptable to both left-hand and right-hand toolholder setups depending on the machining configuration required.
Designed for use in CNMG432-style screw-clamp toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are non-ferrous metals and superalloys per Material Grade S10. Conforms to ANSI Code CNMG432EGU and ISO Code CNMG120408N-GU.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians during tool setup or insert indexing. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specification — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the insert or damage the toolholder pocket. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the insert.
