The SUMITOMO 19T4BPK is a solid carbide turning insert carrying ANSI designation DCMT32.51ESU-AC8015P and ISO code DCMT11T304N-SU. It features Sumitomo's proprietary Absotech Platinum CVD coating, applied to a 55-degree diamond-shaped insert body with a positive rake angle of 8 degrees and a 7-degree relief angle. The insert measures 0.4567 inches in length with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a 1/64-inch corner radius. It is designed for single-point turning operations on steel workpieces and is held in place via pin and screw clamping. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC lathe operators in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for turning steel workpieces classified under material grades P10 and P20. The ESU chip breaker geometry and neutral cutting direction make it appropriate for both roughing and semi-finishing passes on carbon and alloy steels. The Absotech Platinum CVD coating provides wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous and interrupted cuts. Typical applications include shaft turning, facing, and contour operations on CNC turning centers and manual lathes where pin-and-screw toolholders in the DC series are in use.
Designed for use in DC-series pin-and-screw toolholders accepting DCMT-style inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle. Compatible with toolholders conforming to ANSI designation DCMT32.51 and ISO designation DCMT11T3. Intended for machining steel workpieces in material grades P10 and P20.
This insert is installed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is removed from the turret before indexing or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to release and re-torque the clamping screw according to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the insert seat and chip breaker pocket for debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper clamping and edge presentation.
