Product Description

The SUMITOMO 19T2BPF is a CCMT32.52 indexable carbide turning insert with Sumitomo grade AC4015K, designed for finishing and light machining operations on cast iron workpieces. It carries a CVD-applied Al2O3/TiCN multilayer coating under the Super FF designation, delivering high wear resistance with moderate toughness for K-class materials. The insert features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a positive rake angle of 8 degrees, a 7-degree relief angle, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. The ESU chip breaker geometry controls chip formation during light cuts. Licensed machinists and CNC turning center operators install this insert in standard CCMT-compatible toolholders.

This insert is intended for cast iron turning applications requiring tight surface finish and dimensional control. The AC4015K grade is classified K15, placing it in the high-to-moderate wear-resistance range for gray cast iron, ductile iron, and similar ferrous materials. The ESU chip breaker targets finishing and light machining passes where chip evacuation and edge integrity are the priority. It is held by pin or screw clamping methods in CCMT-style toolholders. Both ANSI (CCMT32.52) and ISO (CCMT09T308 / CCMT09T308N-SU) designations are supported, making it compatible with standard international toolholder systems.

Key Features

  • AC4015K CVD-coated carbide grade with Al2O3/TiCN multilayer coating for cast iron wear resistance
  • ESU chip breaker geometry optimized for finishing and light machining chip control
  • 80-degree diamond (C-shape) insert with positive rake and positive side clearance for reduced cutting forces
  • Dual ANSI/ISO designation (CCMT32.52 / CCMT09T308) for broad toolholder compatibility
  • Pin and screw insert holding methods supported
  • Compliant with ANSI and ISO 13399 standards

Compatibility

Designed as a direct-fit replacement for CCMT32.52-style indexable turning toolholders using pin or screw clamping. ANSI size code 32.52 and ISO size code 09T308 toolholder compatibility. Verify toolholder pocket specification before installation.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Ensure the toolholder pocket and seating surface are clean and free of chips before clamping. Do not exceed the chip breaker operating range; this geometry is rated for finishing and light machining passes only.
