The SUMITOMO 19RJWC2 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. Carrying the ANSI designation TPMT21.52ESU and ISO code TPMT110208N-SU, this insert features a triangular shape with a 60-degree included angle, a positive rake angle of 8 degrees, and an 11-degree relief angle. The AC820P grade substrate is CVD-coated with Al2O3, delivering high wear resistance across a range from moderate to high-wear cutting conditions. With a 1/32-inch corner radius and a 1/4-inch inscribed circle, this insert is sized for finishing and light machining passes on steel and cast iron workpieces.
The 19RJWC2 is suited for finishing and light machining operations on steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO K) workpieces. The ESU chip breaker geometry is engineered for controlled chip formation at light depths of cut and moderate feed rates, making this insert appropriate for close-tolerance turning where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are priorities. It is installed by CNC machinists and tool and die professionals in job shop, production, and maintenance machining environments. The positive side clearance and screw-holding method ensure secure, repeatable seating in compatible TPMT-style toolholders.
Designed for use in TPMT-style screw-clamping toolholders compatible with the TPMT21.52 ANSI insert size and TPMT110208 ISO insert size. Confirm toolholder pocket geometry, clearance angle, and screw hole alignment before installation.
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by qualified machinists with the machine spindle stopped and all axes locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Use the manufacturer-recommended torque driver or screw key to seat the insert screw — do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can crack under excessive clamping force. Inspect the toolholder pocket for chips or damage before seating a new insert, and verify insert orientation relative to the cutting direction before resuming operation.
