The insert has a 55-degree diamond shape (ANSI code DNMX432ESEW, ISO code DNMX150408N-SEW) with a neutral hand orientation and a positive rake angle of 13 degrees. A 0.0313-inch corner radius delivers a balance between edge strength and surface finish quality. This insert is intended for steel turning applications, classified under primary workpiece material code P. The DNMX series geometry with the ESEW chip breaker is suited for medium to finishing passes on carbon steels, alloy steels, and similar ferrous materials in both production and job-shop environments.
