The SUMITOMO 19RJBPE is a CCMT-style indexable turning insert engineered for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features an 80-degree diamond shape with a positive rake angle of 8 degrees and a relief angle of 7 degrees, making it well suited for finishing and semi-finishing operations. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide with an Al2O3 (aluminum oxide) CVD coating under manufacturer grade AC820P, delivering thermal resistance and wear life on steel workpieces. Installation is handled by a screw-clamp holding method. The insert measures 0.3819 inches in length with an inscribed circle of 0.3750 inches and a thickness of 0.1563 inches.
This insert is designed for external turning applications on steel and similar P-grade workpiece materials in production machining environments. The ESU chip breaker geometry controls chip evacuation during continuous cuts, reducing built-up edge and improving surface finish. The neutral hand orientation allows use in standard right-hand tool holders configured for CCMT pocket geometry. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance turning applications will find this insert appropriate for light to moderate depth-of-cut passes on ferrous materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit insert for CCMT-pocket turning tool holders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, 5/32-inch thick diamond insert with a screw-clamp holding method. ISO code CCMT09T304N-SU. Confirm tool holder pocket specifications before ordering.
This insert is installed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to the tool holder manufacturer torque specification when securing the clamping screw — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and prevent premature edge failure.
