Product Description

The SUMITOMO 19RJBFY is a solid carbide coated turning insert in the WNMG332EMU configuration, grade AC820P, designed for precision metal cutting in CNC turning applications. This insert features an 80-degree trigon (W-shape) geometry with a neutral hand orientation and a negative rake and negative side clearance. The CVD-applied AC820P coating delivers high wear resistance with moderate toughness, making it effective for continuous and interrupted cuts in steel and cast iron workpieces. With a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius, it is sized for medium to light machining passes. Installed by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians.

This insert is suited for light to medium machining operations on steel (ISO material group P) and cast iron (ISO material group K). The EMU chip breaker geometry is optimized for controlled chip formation during these operations. The insert is held via clamp or pin methods and conforms to both ANSI and ISO 13399 standards. The ISO code is WNMG060408N-MU and the ANSI size code is 332, providing straightforward cross-referencing for toolholders and insert pockets already in use on the shop floor.

Key Features

  • AC820P grade with CVD coating for high wear resistance in steel and cast iron applications
  • 80-degree trigon (W-shape) insert geometry with negative rake and negative side clearance
  • EMU chip breaker supports light and medium machining operations
  • Neutral hand orientation for flexible toolholder compatibility
  • Meets ANSI and ISO 13399 standards; ISO code WNMG060408N-MU, ANSI code WNMG332
  • Compatible with clamp and pin insert holding methods

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit insert for WNMG332-style toolholders accepting 80-degree trigon inserts with negative clearance and pin or clamp retention. Primary workpiece materials are steel (P) and cast iron (K) per ISO material group coding.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Secure the insert fully in the pocket using the appropriate clamp or pin before resuming cutting. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the EMU chip breaker geometry as defined in the toolholder and insert manufacturer documentation.
