The SUMITOMO 19RBBYH is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the ANSI designation WNMG432EGE and ISO designation WNMG080408N-GE, with a manufacturer grade of AC830P. The insert features a CVD-applied Al2O3 coating for thermal resistance and wear performance during continuous and interrupted turning operations. The 80-degree trigon (W-shape) geometry with a neutral hand orientation suits a wide range of tool holder configurations. With a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, a 0.3425 inch insert length, and a 1/32 inch (0.0313 inch) corner radius, this insert is sized for standard WNMG432 tooling systems.
This insert is intended for use on CNC turning centers in industrial machining environments. The EGE chip breaker geometry and positive rake angle of 3 degrees promote controlled chip formation and reduced cutting forces. The AC830P grade with Al2O3 CVD coating is suited for turning steel and universal workpiece materials, corresponding to ISO material groups P and M. It is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units, making it appropriate for shop floor stocking by machinists and tooling specialists.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct stocking insert for WNMG432 turning insert holders that accept clamp or pin holding methods. Compatible with ISO material groups P (steel) and M (universal) workpiece materials as noted in the supplier specification.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before clamping. Follow the tool holder manufacturer torque specifications for the clamping screw — do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and will crack under excessive clamp load.
