The SUMITOMO 19RBBJU is a solid carbide turning insert with ANSI designation TNMG432 and ISO designation TNMG220408, finished with an Al2O3 (aluminum oxide) CVD coating under the AC830P grade. The insert features a 60-degree triangular shape with a neutral hand orientation and a positive rake angle of 3 degrees. It is designed for external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The AC830P grade is engineered for moderate wear-resistance and toughness, making it well suited for finishing and light machining passes on steel and stainless steel workpieces. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production and job-shop environments are the primary installers of this insert.
This insert is applied in turning operations targeting steel (ISO P) and stainless steel (ISO M) workpieces, with a universal secondary material designation covering both P and M classifications. The ESX chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing and light machining cuts, producing controlled chip flow at lower depths of cut and feed rates. It fits standard TNMG-style toolholders that accommodate a 1/2-inch inscribed circle insert held by clamp or pin retention methods. Typical applications include diameter turning, facing, and contouring on CNC lathes in both production and repair machining environments.
Designed for use in standard TNMG-style turning toolholders that accept a 1/2-inch inscribed circle insert with clamp or pin retention. Conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards for interchangeability with compliant tooling systems.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing the insert. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before clamping. Do not exceed the chipbreaker geometry's intended depth-of-cut range, as this insert is rated for finishing and light machining loads rather than heavy roughing.
