The SUMITOMO 19RB893 is a coated solid carbide turning insert designed for CNC lathe and turning center applications. It carries the ANSI insert code DNMG431 and ISO code DNMG150404, with a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape and neutral hand orientation. The insert is manufactured to grade AC830P, a CVD-coated carbide grade engineered for moderate wear resistance and toughness across steel and stainless steel workpieces. With a 0.5 inch inscribed circle and a 0.0156 inch corner radius, this insert suits both roughing and medium machining operations. Chip breaker designation ENG further supports controlled chip evacuation during those cut types. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production turning environments are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is intended for turning steel (ISO P) and stainless steel (ISO M) workpiece materials. The AC830P grade provides a balance of wear resistance and toughness that handles variable stock conditions, interrupted cuts, and continuous finishing passes at medium to heavy chip loads. The ENG chip breaker geometry is optimized for roughing and medium machining. The insert is sold individually per package with a minimum order quantity of 10 units, making it appropriate for shop-floor replenishment in production machining environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use insert for CNC turning tool holders that accept DNMG431 (ANSI) or DNMG150404 (ISO) insert geometry with clamp or pin holding. Compatible with material grades C5, C5A, and C6 tooling classifications.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing any insert. Seat the insert fully against the pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamp or pin to avoid micro-movement during cutting. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris prior to installation, as contamination under the insert can cause premature edge failure or poor surface finish.
