The SUMITOMO 19R5CHY is a solid carbide turning insert carrying ANSI designation SNMG643EEG and manufacturer grade AC6020M. It features a square insert shape with a 90-degree included angle and a negative rake geometry, making it well-suited for interrupted and continuous turning operations on stainless steel. The Absotech Platinum CVD coating provides wear resistance and thermal stability at elevated cutting speeds. The EEG chip breaker geometry controls chip evacuation during medium to finishing passes. Insert dimensions are 0.75 inches inscribed circle, 0.75 inches length, 0.25 inches thickness, and a 3/64-inch corner radius. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC operators in turning centers and engine lathes.

This insert is optimized for primary workpiece material code M, covering stainless steel and similar ISO M-class materials at material grade M20. It fits standard SNMG-style toolholders using pin and screw insert holding methods. Installation Notes
