Designed for negative-rake turning operations, this insert carries the AC6020M manufacturer grade and is engineered primarily for machining stainless steel. It features an 80-degree diamond insert shape, a neutral cutting direction, and an EGU chip breaker geometry. At 0.5079 inches in length with a 1/2-inch inscribed circle and a 1/64-inch corner radius, it fits standard CNMG toolholders using pin and screw holding methods. Machinists and tooling specialists working in production turning environments install these inserts.
This insert is rated for Material Grade M20 and is classified under Primary Workpiece Material Code M, indicating suitability for austenitic and ferritic stainless steels. The EGU chip breaker geometry supports stable chip control during continuous and interrupted cuts on difficult-to-machine materials. The CVD-applied Absotech Platinum coating provides wear resistance and thermal stability at elevated cutting speeds.
