Intended for use on CNC lathes and turning centers, this insert features a CVD-applied aluminum oxide (Al2O3) coating over a solid carbide substrate, placing it in material grades C5, C5A, C6, and C7. The neutral hand orientation suits a wide range of turning setups. Key dimensional specs include a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle, a 0.5079-inch insert length, a 3/16-inch insert thickness, and a 1/32-inch (0.0313-inch) corner radius. The 80-degree diamond insert shape and positive rake angle of 4 degrees support efficient chip control via the EMU chip breaker geometry.
This insert is suited for general turning and finishing operations, with secondary workpiece material compatibility noted for stainless steel (material code M). It is designed for use in toolholders that accept CNMG-series inserts held by clamp and pin methods.
