The SUMITOMO 19P7BPE is a solid carbide CVD-coated turning insert designed for precision external and internal turning operations on steel workpieces. Conforming to ANSI code CCMT32.51ESU and ISO code CCMT09T304N-SU, this insert features an 80-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand orientation. The AC8025P grade coating provides wear resistance suited to steel-cutting applications. The insert measures 0.3819 inches in length with a 3/8-inch (0.375 inch) inscribed circle and a 1/64-inch (0.0156 inch) corner radius. It is held by a screw-clamping method and carries a positive rake geometry with the ESU chip breaker configuration.
This insert is intended for CNC turning centers and manual lathes where consistent steel-cutting performance is required. The CCMT style with clearance code C and tolerance code M places it in standard precision-class fitment for external turning, boring, and profiling of steel components. The ESU chip breaker supports controlled chip evacuation during light-to-medium depth-of-cut passes on steel. It is suited for production turning environments where repeatable tool life and surface finish are priorities. Installation in compatible CCMT-style toolholders is straightforward for experienced machinists and CNC setup technicians.
Designed for use in CCMT-style screw-clamp turning toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle insert. Compatible with toolholder systems conforming to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards for CCMT09T3 insert seat designations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine in a fully stopped, locked-out state before insert indexing or replacement. Seat the insert firmly against the pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Handle carbide inserts with care to avoid chipping the cutting edges prior to use.
