The SUMITOMO 19HVW1M is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT style, designed for single-point turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the manufacturer grade AC510U and features a dual-layer PVD coating combining TiAlN and AlCrN under SUMITOMO's proprietary Super ZX designation. This coating system is engineered for high heat resistance and wear resistance at elevated cutting speeds. The insert has a neutral hand orientation, a positive rake angle of 8 degrees, and a 7-degree relief angle, making it well suited for finishing and semi-finishing cuts where edge sharpness and surface finish quality are the primary concerns. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the typical end users.
This insert is intended for use in turning applications involving superalloys, as indicated by the secondary workpiece material code S. The ESU chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation in these demanding materials. It fits standard CCMT-style toolholders with a screw-clamp holding method. The ANSI code CCMT32.51ESU and ISO code CCMT09T304N-SU allow direct cross-referencing with toolholder catalogs and cutting data libraries. It is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units per order.
Designed for use in CCMT-style screw-clamp turning toolholders. Cross-references by ANSI code CCMT32.51ESU and ISO code CCMT09T304N-SU. Suitable for superalloy workpiece materials (ISO material group S).
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and clamping procedure. Ensure the toolholder pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips or debris before installing the insert. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Always verify cutting data - speeds, feeds, and depth of cut - against SUMITOMO's published grade recommendations for the specific workpiece material before running production.
