The SUMITOMO 19DY335 is a CNMG432EGU-style indexable turning insert manufactured from solid carbide with an aluminum oxide (Al2O3) coating applied via CVD process. Carrying manufacturer grade AC700G, this insert is engineered for high wear-resistance in steel and cast iron applications. It features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape, a neutral hand orientation, and a positive rake angle of 7 degrees. The inscribed circle measures 0.5 inches, insert length is 0.5079 inches, and the corner radius is 0.03 inches. The EGU chip breaker geometry supports both light and medium machining operations. Machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert in compatible toolholders using clamp or pin holding methods.
This insert is suited for turning operations on steel (ISO material group P) and cast iron (ISO material group K) workpieces in both production and job-shop environments. The AC700G grade delivers high wear-resistance against steel and a range from high wear-resistance to moderate toughness against cast iron. The EGU chip breaker geometry makes it a practical choice for finishing and semi-finishing passes where controlled chip evacuation is critical. It conforms to ANSI size code 432 and ISO size code 120408, fitting standard CNMG-style toolholders used in CNC lathes and turning centers across light industrial and heavy manufacturing settings.
Designed for use in CNMG432-compatible indexable turning toolholders. ANSI insert code CNMG432 and ISO insert code CNMG120408 are the reference codes for toolholder selection. Conforms to ANSI and ISO 13399 standards. Material grade classifications C7 and C8 apply.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always disengage the machine and lock out power before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's specified seating procedure when clamping the insert. Inspect the insert seat and chip pocket for debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and prevent premature edge failure.
