The SUMITOMO 14HB624 is a solid carbide trigon milling insert designed for precision metal removal in milling operations. Designated by ISO code WDMT0804ZDTR, it carries the ACP300 manufacturer grade and features a PVD-applied coating for extended tool life and thermal resistance. The insert measures 0.1575 inches thick with an inscribed circle diameter of 0.3350 inches and a corner radius of 0.0787 inches. A relief angle of 15 degrees reduces cutting forces and minimizes workpiece contact. This insert is installed by machining professionals and toolroom technicians working on CNC milling equipment.
This insert is engineered for primary use on stainless steel and steel workpieces, covering ISO material codes M and P. It fits the MSX cutter series and is suited for both roughing and finishing passes where controlled chip geometry and edge integrity are critical. The 80-degree included angle of the trigon shape provides a stable cutting edge suitable for demanding applications in production and job-shop environments. Sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use with the MSX cutter series. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel and steel, corresponding to ISO material codes M and P.
Insert installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and manufacturer-specified insert screws when securing the insert to the pocket; do not overtighten by feel alone. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping components for wear or debris before installing a new insert.
