The SUMITOMO 14BXW3K is a solid carbide milling insert in the ZNMT3SX style, finished with a TiN/AlN coating and manufactured to the ACZ350 grade. This insert features a ball nose rounded tip geometry designed to produce smooth contoured surfaces in milling operations. At 0.795 inches in cutting edge effective length, 0.167 inches thick, and 0.280 inches wide, the 14BXW3K is a size-3 insert suited for high-precision milling applications. It is installed by machinists and tool-crib technicians working with compatible WBMR-series cutter bodies. The TiN/AlN finish provides thermal and wear resistance for demanding cutting conditions.
This insert is intended for use in CNC milling operations requiring a ball nose profile, including die and mold work, contouring, and profiling of hardened or difficult-to-machine materials. The ACZ350 grade designation indicates a coated carbide substrate appropriate for a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials in high-speed or high-feed milling scenarios. The 14BXW3K is sold individually and is compatible with WBMR-series cutter bodies as specified by Sumitomo.
Designed for use with WBMR-series cutter bodies as specified for the ZNMT3SX insert style. Verify cutter body seat geometry and insert size code 3 compatibility before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the cutter body is fully removed from the spindle and the machine is locked out before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to the cutter manufacturer's specified seat-fastener procedure. Inspect the insert pocket for debris, damage, or wear before seating the new insert.
