The SUMITOMO 1433938 is a solid carbide milling insert in the AECT160432PEFRA geometry, manufactured to grade H1 with a bright uncoated finish. This parallelogram-shaped insert is designed for indexable milling cutters used in metal removal operations on non-ferrous workpiece materials. It measures 0.6456 inches in length and 0.1968 inches in thickness, with a corner radius of 0.1260 inches (3.20 mm) and a 20-degree relief angle. The uncoated solid carbide construction suits applications where coating is undesirable or where the substrate alone provides the needed edge performance. Installation is performed by qualified machinists and CNC tooling technicians.
This insert is intended for milling operations targeting non-ferrous metals, corresponding to workpiece material code N. The AECT insert style and 1604 size code are commonly used in face milling and shoulder milling cutter bodies that accept this insert geometry. The maximum depth of cut reaches 0.6690 inches (16.99 mm), making it suitable for moderate-to-aggressive passes in aluminum, brass, copper, and similar non-ferrous alloys. It is used in production machining environments as well as job-shop settings where precise insert geometry and consistent edge quality are required.
Designed for use in indexable milling cutter bodies accepting the AECT 1604 insert size and parallelogram insert geometry. Primary workpiece material compatibility is non-ferrous metals (material code N). Specific cutter body compatibility should be confirmed against the toolholder manufacturer documentation for the AECT160432 pocket specification.
Insert seating and torquing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician following the cutter body manufacturer torque specifications for the applicable screw and pocket type. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before seating a new insert. Do not use damaged or chipped inserts, as edge failure at speed presents a serious safety hazard.
