The SUGATSUNE MCH-40 is a heavy duty magnetic catch designed for secure door and cabinet closure in demanding trade and commercial applications. Constructed from zinc alloy with a nickel-plated finish, it delivers reliable holding force in environments where standard catches fail prematurely. The catch body measures 1-37/64 inches long by 3/4 inches wide by 3/4 inches high, keeping the footprint compact for tight installation spaces. The strike measures 7/8 inches long by 3/4 inches wide. With 6.6 units of magnetic holding force, this catch is suited for heavier cabinet doors and access panels that require a positive, rattle-free closure. Installation is typically handled by millwork, cabinetry, or general contractors during finish carpentry phases.
The MCH-40 is well suited for light commercial and residential cabinetry, equipment enclosures, access panels, and utility door applications. Its compact form factor allows recessed or surface mounting in standard door frame and cabinet face configurations. The nickel-plated zinc alloy construction resists corrosion in moderately humid environments, making it appropriate for mechanical room cabinetry, utility closets, and similar service areas where HVAC or plumbing access panels are common.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation magnetic catch for standard residential and light commercial cabinet and access panel door applications.
Installation is typically performed by finish carpenters or general contractors using common hand tools. Ensure the mounting surface is clean and flat before securing the catch body and strike to achieve full magnetic contact. Misalignment between the catch and strike is the most common cause of reduced holding force, so verify alignment before final fastening. No special trade license is required for installation of door hardware.
