The SUGATSUNE BCT-40 is a compact tension catch designed to hold cabinet doors, access panels, and small enclosure lids in a closed position. Constructed from zinc alloy with a chrome-plated finish, it provides corrosion resistance and a clean appearance in both exposed and concealed installations. The catch operates on a pull-to-open action, requiring 2.1 newtons (4.6 pounds) of pull force to release and 3 newtons (6.6 pounds) of push force to engage. Its small footprint makes it well suited for light-duty cabinetry and panel applications where a low-profile latch is required. Installation requires a matching strike, included or specified separately.
The BCT-40 is used in residential and commercial cabinetry, electrical enclosures, HVAC access panels, and similar light-duty applications where a tool-free, push-to-close and pull-to-open latching mechanism is needed. The 7/16-inch long by 19/64-inch wide strike dimensions allow it to fit into tight spaces where larger catches would not be practical. Millwork contractors, cabinet installers, and maintenance technicians commonly specify this catch for retrofit and new-construction panel work.
Designed as an OEM-style tension catch suitable for light-duty cabinet doors, access panels, and small enclosure lids requiring a pull-open latching mechanism.
Installation is typically performed by cabinet installers or maintenance technicians using standard hand tools. Ensure the mounting surface is rigid and that the catch body and strike are aligned flush before fastening to allow consistent engagement force. Verify that the pull and push force ratings are appropriate for the door weight and application before installing.
