The STEWART FASTENER J1232ACPZ is a jar of 100 zinc-plated, pan head, combination-drive, Type A sheet metal tapping screws sized No. 12 by 2 inches. Type A tapping screws are designed to cut their own threads in thin sheet metal and other pre-punched or pre-drilled materials, making them a standard fastener in HVAC ductwork assembly, electrical enclosures, light-gauge metal fabrication, and general sheet metal work. The pan head profile provides a wide bearing surface and low-profile seating. The zinc plating delivers basic corrosion resistance suitable for indoor and protected applications. The combination drive accepts both slotted and Phillips drivers, which is practical on the job site when tool selection is limited.
These screws are well-suited for residential and light commercial trade applications where No. 12 diameter, 2-inch length sheet metal fasteners are called for. HVAC technicians commonly use Type A pan head screws for ductwork connections, register boot attachments, and equipment panel fastening. Electricians and sheet metal workers use them for enclosure assembly and light-gauge bracket work. The jar packaging of 100 pieces is sized for service van stock or single-job use.
Designed as a standard Type A pan head sheet metal tapping screw for use in light-gauge metal assemblies including HVAC ductwork, equipment panels, electrical enclosures, and similar sheet metal fabrication applications.
Installation is performed by HVAC technicians, electricians, and sheet metal workers using a Phillips or slotted screwdriver or appropriate bit driver. Always de-energize electrical equipment and shut down HVAC systems before fastening panels or enclosures. Pilot hole size should match the screw diameter and material gauge per standard sheet metal practice. Do not overdrive — pan head screws seat when the head contacts the material surface.
