The STEWART FASTENER 7404 is a steel wedge anchor designed for anchoring into concrete and masonry substrates. Wedge anchors in this size class are used to fasten structural and mechanical components to concrete floors, walls, and foundations. The 7404 measures 0.25 inches in diameter and 3.25 inches in length, making it suited for moderate-depth embedment applications. Installation is performed by drilling a matching hole, inserting the anchor, and tightening the nut to expand the wedge clip against the concrete wall. Licensed tradespeople in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work commonly use wedge anchors to secure equipment bases, pipe hangers, conduit straps, and similar hardware to concrete.
The STEWART FASTENER 7404 wedge anchor is appropriate for use in residential and light commercial construction and mechanical installation settings. Typical applications include securing equipment pads, mounting brackets, pipe supports, electrical enclosures, and other hardware to poured concrete or concrete block. This size is a common choice where shallow embedment depth and smaller fastener diameter are required by the design load or available substrate thickness.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use wedge anchor for concrete and masonry anchoring applications where a 0.25-inch diameter wedge anchor is specified.
Installation requires a hammer drill and a 0.25-inch carbide-tipped masonry bit sized to match the anchor diameter per the manufacturer's specification. Drill the hole to the required embedment depth, clear dust and debris from the hole before inserting the anchor, and tighten the nut to the specified snug-tight condition. Always follow applicable building codes and structural engineer specifications for anchor spacing, edge distance, and embedment depth. Do not install wedge anchors in cracked concrete without engineering review.
