The STERLING 55wkp3a-3 is a complete hydronic baseboard heating unit in the Kompak series, designed for low-profile residential installations where wall space is at a premium. Built around a 3/4-inch element tube and supplied in a 3-foot length, this unit ships fully assembled in a classic white painted enclosure. The enclosure features smooth, radius-formed end covers and a sleek, flowing profile that integrates cleanly into finished living spaces. An integrated finger-tip temperature control damper provides simple airflow adjustment with no mechanical noise during operation. Licensed HVAC and hydronic heating technicians are the primary installers of this equipment.
The 55wkp3a-3 is suited for residential hydronic heating systems in spaces where baseboard height or depth is constrained, such as under windows, along knee walls, or in rooms with limited perimeter wall runs. Its slim Kompak silhouette makes it a practical choice for bedrooms, hallways, and living areas in hot-water heating systems. The unit is available in multiple lengths including 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 foot sections, allowing system designers to cover a full perimeter without cutting or excessive waste.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for residential hydronic baseboard heating systems using 3/4-inch element tube configurations. Splice plates are included with 8, 6, and 5 foot lengths; telescoping sections are available in 14-foot runs for extended coverage.
Installation of hydronic baseboard heaters should be performed by a licensed HVAC or plumbing professional familiar with closed-loop hot-water heating systems. Drain and depressurize the affected zone of the hydronic system before disconnecting or modifying any piping. Follow local mechanical codes and manufacturer instructions for proper mounting height, bracket spacing, and end-cap fitting. Do not operate the unit without water circulating through the element, as dry operation can damage the fin-and-tube assembly.
